Pamela Robinson Parr Pamela Robinson Parr, 62 of Lynchburg passed away Monday, December 14, 2009 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of William Randall ?Randy? Parr. Born February 1, 1947 in Lynchburg she is the daughter of Shirley Colbert Robinson of Lynchburg and the late Charles Eaton Robinson, Jr. Pamela was a graduate of Seven Hills School, Class of 1970, was an Alumnus of St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, NC and Lynchburg College. She retired from Bedford County Public Schools after teaching 20 years at Big Island Elementary School in addition to having taught for 10 years in Northern Virginia. She was a member of Peakland United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Page Turners Book Club, The Visitation Team and The Sunday School. In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by two step sons, John Randall Parr and wife Melissa Garner Parr and William Bradley Parr all of Lynchburg; two step- grandsons, Austin Randall Parr of Virginia Beach and William Cole Parr of Lynchburg; her brother, Charles E. Robinson, III and wife Barbara G. Ferrari of Lynchburg: her sister, Robin Robinson Roberts and husband Thomas Walker Roberts, Jr. of Roanoke; nieces, Elizabeth Roberts Thomas and husband Benjamin Lauren Thomas of Raleigh, NC, Mary Pope Roberts and Sallie Walker Roberts both of Roanoke. Special recognition goes out to Pam?s very Special Sisters, better known as ?gal pals? from Seven Hills, Class of 1970, to all of her ?Rat Pack? college friends, her Northern Virginia teacher friends and her teacher friends in Bedford County at Big Island Elementary, Boonsboro Elementary, Elon Elementary and Madison Heights Elementary. Pam had a love of animals, mourned the suffering of animals, prayed for loving treatment of all living things and is survived by beloved Callie and Grey Grey. In Memory of Skippy, Lollie, Angel, Blakie and just Plain Wonderful Dolly. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 1:00 pm in Peakland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Timothy R. Gerde officiating. The family will receive friends today, Wednesday from 7-8:30 pm at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel. The family extends a special thanks to all of the doctors and nurses at the Alan Pearson Cancer Center and The Oncology Fourth Floor at Lynchburg General Hospital for the excellent care and treatment provided. In lieu of flowers one may consider memorial contributions to The Lynchburg Humane Society, The Old City Cemetery, Peakland United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
