We have proudly served the Lynchburg community for over 200 years. As the oldest funeral home in Virginia, and second oldest funeral home in the United States, we take great pride in our history of service to our community. Our founder, Samspon Diuguid of Appomattox, did not set out to run a funeral home but rose to the occasion. As a fine furniture maker, he was routinely asked to create caskets for the community members when they experienced loss. Today, we continue his mission of helping the community. We know that the Lynchburg community’s needs have changed over the years and we do everything we can to honor its tradition while also meeting each family where they are. We know how important it is to find the right funeral home, and we are grateful that families continue to trust us to take care of their loved ones.
