It was my good fortune to meet Pam when I served as principal at Big Island Elementary in the 80s. We kept up with one another through the years and I spent an especially enjoyable day at her house at a picnic this past summer. She lived the phrase "master teacher". I learned a great deal from her and through this knowing thousands of lives have been touched. Pam warmly offered her friendship and steady sense of humor- such precious gifts. My sincere sympathy to her family.

Randy, I met you while living at the Parkmont Condos..I also taught with Pam for only 1 year in Bedford, but later while walking on Rivermont, we continued talking and enjoying seeing eachother. I am stunned and saddened by her death...she was so gentle and always a quiet smile for anyone and everyone. I can't imagine how you will miss her...I am sorry, but that doesn't say near enough. Fondly, Lynn Burke

Pam was my mentor teacher when I came to Big Island Elementary in 1986. She was the sweetest and most patient person. She even met me at school during the summer on her own time to answer my thousands of questions and to guide me. I know that God put her in my path to lead me through my first year of teaching. In recent years I had Pam come back and substitute for me. I am the reading teacher now at BIES and this was definitely Pam's forte. She was the best reading teacher in the world and wrote me the funniest notes on my lesson plans when she subbed for me. I wish she could have spent a few more years with us. I will miss her so much. I last saw her at the end of October 2009. She looked wonderful and that spirit was more positive than ever, I will always carry that with me. Prayers and sympathy to her family.
