I met Georgia when we both worked at the Randolph Macon Infirmary.
She was a warm person and so pleasant to work with. I still have some of her recipes. Please accept my condolences.

What a wonderful loving lady. She was always a delight and inspiration at Lynchburg Parks and Rec programs and we had some great times at the VA Senior Games. She will be missed.

I have such wonderful memories of Georgia from my childhood. Her daughter, Janet, was my earliest and most constant friend while I was growing up, so I was blessed with being able to spend a lot of time around her. Most of all I recall her smile...it seems she was always smiling. There is a poem I came across called After Glow. I don't know who the author is, but I think Georgia could have written it, because it sounds just like how she lived her life:
I'd like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an after glow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun
of happy memories that I leave when my life is done.
Georgia Wood, you made life a better, happier place for some many of us. You will be lovingly remembered, always.
