Dear Roger and Tommy,
I was sorry to hear of the passing of your father. We worked together at LFC for nearly 37 years. I will always remember him as a mentor and friend. He was always willing to offer his assistance and advice when asked. I will always remember him as a perfectionist and craftsman. Whether it was a task at work, a carving or grinding a stump, you were always going to get the best job possible. We shared a lot of good times and laughs together. I will truly miss him.

Dear Roger and Tommy-
I will always remember you Dads' big smile and fast wit.. As an artist his carvings are priceless - I remember back in 3rd grade coming down to your home to wait until it was time to walk to school and he would be working on chains with moving balls inside. I saw a few of his carvings at the Lynchburg Library - you just had to stop and look with wonderment at the faces, clothing they are wearing- in a word they are just plan wonderful.
Thinking of you...

Roger, Thomas and family,
Your Dad was one of the first men I meet at LFC in 1970. He left a lasting positive impression on me as being a down to earth, practical thinking and highly skilled individual.
He was always helpful and could diagnose and solve any tooling problem that came his way. He always knew "how the wind was blowing" and followed his instincts instead of getting wrapped up in company politics.
The last time we talked was at the LFC luncheon before Christmas. He told me then that is battle with cancer was in its final stage.
He was a good man, may he rest in peace.
Respectfully,
T W Hudson

Ernie Cobb gave generously of his time, talent, friendship, and good humor to the residents at Westminster Canterbury. He was
good company and patient in encouraging others to try their skills at woodcarving. His commitment to our community will always be present in the carousel horse displayed over our main entrance. In addition, many of us have carvings so generously made and given us. His passing is a great loss to so many who knew him and enjoyed working with him. His service to us began at least 20 years ago and he was a regular visitor on Wednesday nights. What a fond memory for those who knew him.

On behalf of the Lynchburg Public Library Staff, I offer our sincere condolences on the passing of Mr. Cobb. For a number of years, he has exhibited his woodcarvings in a monthly display at the library. The displays always were popular and people would visit the library just to see his work. In addition to his fine talent, his work also displayed such wit and humor. He was a true and humble gentleman. He will be greatly missed by our staff and his many fans.

To Roger,Tom, & Family, your Dad was very special as a co-worker, friend, & adviser in many ways to me. He gave me a special piece of a wood flower that he personally whittled, & I will always cherish and remember him & his wisdom that he shared with me. We went to visit him today, not knowing he had past, but I will always remember him as a keen & gifted man who loved his family, & his wonderful whittling expertise that he shared with others! Earth's loss & Heaven's gain! Remember God's promise, we shall see our Loved ones again!
God Bless you all at this difficult time,
Brenda & Smokey Wilson
