Obituary of Ralph Thornhill

Ralph Eugene Thornhill, 68, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2008 in Virginia Baptist Hospital after a short balltle with cancer. He was the husband of Gloria Lucado Thornhill. Born October 8, 1939 in Warren, Ohio, he was a son of the late William Homer and Delma Juniata Tyler Thornhill. He was a self employed sales representative for several manufacturing companies and a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church where he was active in the Ambassador's Club. In addition to his wife Gloria, Ralph is survived by four sons, Robert William Thornhill and his wife Carol of Raleigh, NC, Thomas Elliott Thornhill and his wife Jane of Brooklyn, NY, Timothy Scott Thornhill and his wife Jane of Greensboro, NC and Tyler Dale Thornhill of West New York, NJ; two sisters, Marilyn T. Benson of Massilon, OH and Janice T. Lanpher and her husband Bill of Fort Myers, FL; two grandchildren, William Ferguson Thornhill and Amelia Rose "Millie" Thornhill. The family wishes to thank Drs. Michael Kalafian and Cecilia McCallum for all of their personal attention and love during Ralph's illness. A celebration of Ralph's life will be held Friday, February 8, 2008 at 1:00 PM in Pate Chapel at Thomas Road Baptist Church.
