Obituary of Lillie Pugh

Lillie S. Pugh, 95, of Lynchburg, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the Lynchburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Edward N. Pugh, Jr. Born August 27, 1913 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late William Andrews Simons and the late Lucy Ann Houston Simons. She was a member and life-time deaconess of Rivermont Avenue Baptist Church of Lynchburg, Va. She is survived by three sons, Donald E. Pugh and his wife, Mary Lu , of Kingsport, TN, Richard L. Pugh and his wife, Faith, of Lynchburg and Kenneth W. Pugh and his wife, Irma, of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren and nine great-grand children; two nieces that were very special to her, Nancy G. Trent and Norma J. Glass. The family wishes to thank the many friends who have been so faithful in visiting and caring for our Mother during the years she was at Lynchburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. A service will be held Friday, December 5, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the mausoleum chapel of Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Nick Habel officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial contributions be made to the Rivermont Avenue Baptist Church, 1301 Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24504 or a charity of your choice. Diuguid Waterlick Chapel, (237-2722) is serving the family.
