Obituary of Steven Wilson
Steven Melby Wilson, 22, of Lynchburg passed away
Tuesday, February 3, 2009 in Harrisonburg, VA.
Born May 6, 1986 in Iowa City, Iowa, he was a
son of Dr. John M. Wilson and the late Donna Melby Wilson. He
is survived by his loving step-mom, Melissa Proffitt Wilson.
Steven was a 2004 graduate of E.C. Glass High School and
currently a senior at James Madison University and was
scheduled to graduate this May with a degree in
Industrial Process Design. Steve loved the outdoors, including hunting,
fishing, skiing, canoeing and many other activities. He also had a great love
for animals and a was hard worker, previously delivering for King's Island and
various pizza shops in Lynchburg and currently employed with Massanutten Ski
Resort as a life guard while maintaining honor grades at JMU.
In addition to his parents, John and Melissa, he is
survived by one brother, Eric and three sisters, Carter, Caroline and Riley;
paternal grandparents, George and Wilhelmina Wilson; his step grandparents, E.
Wayne and Elizabeth Proffitt, his maternal aunt and uncle Carl and Kathy Melby,
his paternal aunt's and uncle's, Joel and Paula Wilson and Jeff Wilson and many
good and devoted friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal
grandparents, Harold and Josephine Melby.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. in Diuguid Wiggington Chapel, 811
Wiggington Road, with the Rev. Mark Beck officiating. A
reception and visitation will be held immediately after the service at the
funeral home.
A private interment will be held on Monday.
