Obituary of Roy Lafone

Roy Lynn Lafone, Jr. of Lynchburg passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009 at his residence. He was the husband of Nancy Harris Lafone. Born December 7, 1944 in Raleigh, NC he was a son of the late Roy Lynn Lafone, Sr. and Dorothy Watkins Lafone. Roy was a US Marine Corp veteran and was a retired employee of Automatic Conveyor Systems with 29 years of service. He was a member of Tree of Life Ministries. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Roy L. Lafone, III of Sider City, NC and Eric Noel Lafone of Greensboro,NC; his daughter, Hillary M. Lafone of Forest; 2 brothers, Erine Ray Pritt of West Union, WVA and Arnold Lynn Lafone 0f Zebulon, NC; 3 sisters, Susan M. Lafone of Knight Dale, NC, Dorothy L. Law of Weston, WVA Jackie L. Boyce of Jarvisville, WVA and six grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Thursday, 2:00 pm in Tree of Life Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Dodson, Jr. officiating. American Legion post 16 will provide military honors. The family will be at 111 Harrison St. Diuguid Wiggington Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
