Obituary of Ruby Ramey

RUBY OLIVER RAMEY Ruby Oliver Ramey, 89, of Forest went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home. Born in Forest, Va. on December 12, 1919 she was a daughter of the late Gaston Oliver and Mary Tolley Oliver and was the widow of Arthur David Ramey. Mrs. Ramey was retired from Fabric World and was a member of Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church. She is survived by four sons, W. David Ramey and his wife, Patricia Sue of Buena Vista, Co. Ronald A. Ramey of Richmond, Steven O. Ramey of Coco Beach, FL. and George G. Ramey and his wife, Mary Sue of Forest. Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Two sisters, Mary White of Lynchburg and Myrtle Sandifer of Rockville, MD. A Celebration of Ruby?s Life and Faith will held 11:00 AM Monday, May 18, 2009 at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel, Timberlake Rd. with the Rev. Gary White officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Sunday, May 17, 2009 at the funeral home and other times at the home of George and Mary Sue Ramey, 305 Merrywood Dr. Forest. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Brookville-Timberlake Volunteer Rescue Squad, The Bedford County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
