Obituary of Doris Deming

Doris McCorn Deming, 85, formerly of Lynchburg, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in Hartsville, SC. Born in Ilion, NY, June 21, 1924 Mrs. Deming was a daughter of the late Lee and Eulah Wratten McCorn. She was loving and devoted homemaker, a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church, Hartsville and former member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Richard M. Deming, and her sister, Marian McCorn Lyman. Surviving are her son, Rev. David R. Deming and wife, Sandra, of Hartsville, SC, daughter, Debra Lee Deming of Inwood, WVA and grandchildren, Adam David Deming and Elizabeth Deming Nix and husband, Sawyer. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, August 7, 2009 at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with The Rev. Dr. James Newman officiating. Burial in Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Swift Creek Baptist Church Endowment Fund, 413 N. Center Road, Hartsville, SC 29550, The American Heart Association, The American Lung Association or a charity of your choice.
