Obituary of Anita Bomar

Anita Queen Bomar Anita passed on to be with the Lord on August 28, 2009 at the age of 93, while visiting at the home of her son Jim and his wife Judy in Orange Beach, Al. Anita was born on April 16, 1916 in Keysville, Va. and daughter of the late Romulus F. Queen and Mary E. Queen. She was preceded in death by sisters Flossie Q. Johnson, Mildred Q. White, Hyacinth Q, Glass and brother Boyd S. Queen. Wife of the late Carol Witt Bomar, she is survived by sons, James B. Bomar, his wife Judy, Robert C. Bomar Sr., his wife Ella, grandson Robert C. Bomar Jr. his wife Tonya, step grandson Michael Randolph, his wife Becky, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her close friend of many years, Bill Rucker, who gave her an extended family of Patricia Brooks, her husband Ronnie, their daughters Allison, and Renae, and Renae?s daughter, Haley. She worked as an attendant for The Lynchburg Training School in Madison Heights, Va. for 30 years and retired in 1986. She was a Faith Partner and member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church. She loved working in her garden and sharing the vegetables with friends, neighbors and relatives. Her virtues were many and faults were few. Her family and friends expresses sincere gratitude to the care givers of The Summit Assisted Living and staff of Amedisys Hospice in Foley, Al. Anita had spent her most recent days with her son and his wife in Orange Beach, Al. A visitation will be held at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel Wednesday, September 2, 2009 from 7 to 8:30 PM. A Celebration of Anita?s Life and Faith will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, September 3, 2009 at the funeral home with Dr. Robert Putt officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please consider American Cancer Society and West Lynchburg Baptist Church.
