Obituary of Virginia Layne

Virginia Ellard Reynolds Layne, 80, of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009 in Lovingston Health Care Center. She was the widow of Rasha Devilla Layne, Jr. Born February 20, 1929 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Ellard and Ruth Worley Reynolds. She was a graduate of Eagle Rock High School and Virginia Baptist Hospital ?School of Nursing in 1949. She was a retired registered nurse, having worked for Dr. William Cook, Jr. for many years . She was a member of Inglewood Baptist Church and Rivermont Ave. Baptist Church. Virginia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and caretaker of her family and friends. She is survived by one daughter Ruth Layne and her husband P. Scott DeBruin of Arrington, VA; one granddaughter, Elizabeth DeBruin also of Arrington. The family would like to thank the staff of Lovingston Health Care Center for their love and wonderful care given to Mrs. Layne. A celebration of Virginia?s life and faith will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Diuguid Wiggington Road Chapel with Pastor Kathy Nicholls and Rev. Dan G. Mason officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
