Obituary of Mildred Preas Vest

Mildred Ann Preas Vest Mildred Ann Preas Vest, 76, of Lynchburg passed away Sunday, December 20, 2009 at home. She was the wife of the late Charles Franklin Vest. Born May 8, 1933 in Renan she was a daughter of the late William Roy and Blanche Maburry Preas. She was a former employee of Camelot Hall Nursing Home and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sharon Harris. Mildred is survived by six children, Brenda V. Shores and Janet V. Harris and husband John all of Rustburg, Roy Franklin Vest and wife Penny, Margie V. Gowen and Timothy ?Tim? Vest all of Lynchburg and William ?Billy? Vest of Altavista; a brother, Lyle T. Preas of Hurt; 3 sisters, Lorrine P. Shelton and Pauline P. White both of Altavista and Julia P. Bledsoe of Marion, NC; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and two special friends, Frances Walker and Mattie Hudson. A celebration of Mildred?s life will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel with the Rev. John Stump officiating. Interment will follow in Mead Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Tuesday, from 7-8:30 pm. Those wishing to make memorial donations please consider the American Cancer Society.
