Obituary of Janice Banton

Cora Janice Ford Banton Cora Janice Ford Banton, 70, of Rustburg passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles Anderson Banton. Born August 14, 1939 in Lynchburg she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Burton and Louise Witt Ford. She was a retired employee of Campbell County School System and a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Maurelia F. Ragland and a granddaughter, Kayla Banton. She is survived by two sons, Charles Eugene Banton and wife Amanda and Joseph Anderson Banton and wife Brenda all of Rustburg; three brothers, Kenneth Ford of Madison Heights, Nicky Ford of Lynchburg and Lawrence Ford of Elon; two sisters, Shirley F. Smith and Jean F. Blankenship both of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Trista B. McCrickard and husband Troy, Shannon B. Teslik and husband Tyler of Jacksonville, NC and Hope Banton of Rustburg and a great granddaughter, Haven Dawn McCrickard. A celebration of Janice?s Life will be held at the graveside Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 1:00pm in Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Mason officiating. The family will receive Friends Today, Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel from 7-8:30 pm.
