Obituary of Larry Wright

Larry Maurice Wright Larry Maurice Wright, 61, of Lynchburg passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 in Lynchburg General Hospital after a long illness with cancer. He was the husband of Shirley Green Wright. Born December 4, 1948 in Lynchburg he was the son of the late Elton F. and Joyce Grubbs Wright and the grandson of the late James Robert and Carrie Candler Wright and the late Frank Edward and Clara Brown Grubbs. Larry was retired from Homeland Security, TSA at Lynchburg Regional Airport and was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Jason Matthew Wright and wife Teresa; two grandchildren, Donovan Matthew Wright and Sarah Elizabeth Wright and two special aunts, Dolores G. Neighbors and Evelyn W. Johnson all of Lynchburg. A celebration of Larry?s life and faith will be held Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 11:00 am in Lakewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Manley and the Rev. Dr. Maurice T. McCarthy Jr. officiating. Following the service a reception will be held in the fellowship hall for family and friends Memorial contributions may be made to Lakewood Baptist Church Outreach Ministry or the church Music Ministry. Diuguid Waterlick Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
