Gladys Earle Frye Page Gladys Frye Page, 99, of Lynchburg died Saturday, April 10, 2010 in Virginia Baptist Hospital after a short illness. Born January 27, 1911 in Chilhowie she was a daughter of the late William Jackson and Rebecca Phebe Seatz Frye. She was orphaned at age 6 and raised by Lewis and Cora Seatz and Ida and Millard Norris of Boone, NC. She was a graduate of Konnarock Lutheran Training School, Marion College which later became affiliated with Roanoke College and Lynchburg General Hospital School of Nursing. She was married to the late Elmo Lewis Page for 57 years. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Page Hrushka and husband Charles of Chesapeake and son James Lewis Page and wife Kitty Sublett Page of Forest; grandchildren, Dennis Wayne Staples and wife Ann and their daughter Anna all of Charlotte, NC, Catherine Lynn Staples of Virginia Beach and Heather Anne Page and fiancé Cary Tichenor of Richmond. She was preceded in death by her sister Geraldine F. Miller of North Wilksboro, NC. She was ?Nana? to her family who dearly loved her and will miss her. Gladys led a full and active life. Her nursing career of 60 years included private duty nursing, nursing at Lynchburg General Hospital and Lynchburg Nursing Home. She was active in Westview Garden Club, The Loyal Club, LGH Alumni Association and other professional nursing associations. She was a charter member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, reading and needle work and handmade many linens for Bethlehem Church. A celebration of Gladys? life and faith will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Matthew A. Diehl officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday 7-8:30 pm at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel and at other times will be at the home of son Jimmy. Memorial donations may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the Virginia Baptist Palliative Care Center.
