Obituary of Leonard Arthur

Leonard Cornelius Arthur Leonard Cornelius Arthur, 83, of Lynchburg, died Saturday April 10, 2010, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Doris Louise Inge Arthur. Born in Lynchburg, August 20, 1926, he was a son of the late Leonard C. and Mary Harris Arthur. Mr. Arthur was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was retired from Lynchburg Foundry and was a member of Fairview Christian Church. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and caregiver for his wife. Mr. Arthur is survived by 2 sons; Gary Mitchell Arthur and his wife Nancy of Lynchburg, and Patrick Dennis Arthur of Charlottesville; one brother, Bill Arthur of GA and 2 grandchildren, Blake Arthur and Jeff Arthur. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 3:00 pm at Fairview Christian Church by Rev. Jack Hamilton. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post 16. The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 pm at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. Diuguid Waterlick Chapel (237-2722) is serving the family.
