Obituary of Thomas Creasy

Thomas Berkley Creasy, Sr., 84, of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, May 14, 2010, at The Summit. He was the husband of the late Euphan Eubank Creasy. Born June 1, 1925, in Bedford County, VA, he was the son of the late Gillie and Rowena Creasy. Mr. Creasy was retired founder of T. B. Creasy Builder and a member of the former Southern Methodist Church . He was also a member of Moose Lodge 1727, American Legion Post-16 and a life member of Meadow Creek Hunt Club. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during WW-II in the Pacific Theatre. He is survived by two daughters, Trisha C. Driskill and her husband, Ron and Vivian C. Carter and her husband Don , all of Lynchburg; one son, Thomas Berkley Creasy, Jr. and his wife, Lynne, of Evington; eight grandchildren, Ryan Driskill (Gwen), Berkley Driskill , Dana O?Brien (Danny), Carrie Murphy (Ryan), Nat Carter (Caroline), Jess Carter, Ashley Klepac (Andy) and Lauren Creasy; and eight great-grandchildren, Reid and Jackson Driskill , Kaylee and Karter O?Brien , Graceson Murphy, Blakeley, Adalynn and Harrison Carter; four brothers, Irvin Creasy Sr. (Barbara), of Forest, Wesley Creasy, of Vinton VA, Kenneth Creasy of Forest and Ray Creasy ( Joyce) of Louisiana ; one sister, Arlene C. Smith of Bedford. Mr. Creasy is also survived by his life-long and very special friends Darden and Jean May. Mr. Creasy was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, Howard Creasy, Vada Carter, Morris Creasy, Thelma Sexton and Mack Creasy. The family wishes to thank the ?The Garden? staff of The Summit for their love and dedicated care of ?PaPa?. A funeral service will be held Monday, May 17, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Witt officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 P.M. at the funeral home and at the home of Thomas B. Creasy, Jr. all other times.. Interment will be in Virginia Memorial Park with military honors by American Legion post 16. Memorial contributions may be made to The Summit-Activity Fund, 1400 Enterprise Dr., Lynchburg, VA, 24502. Diuguid Funeral Service-Waterlick Chapel (237-2722 ) is serving the family.
