Obituary of Wesley Fariss

Wesley James Fariss, Jr., 78, of Lynchburg died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born in Lynchburg on June 21, 1931 he was the son of the late Wesley James Fariss, Sr., and Ruby Thomas Fariss and was the husband of Mildred Rice Fariss. Mr. Fariss was a retired Designer from General Electric. He was a member and Deacon of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church and a former member of American Legion , Post 16. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas Lee Fariss and his wife, Allene of Westford, Ma. and Gregory Alan Fariss and his wife, Cheryl of Poughkeepsie, NY. A daughter, Elizabeth Anne Rorer and her husband, David of Glen Allen, Va. Six grandchildren, Jessica Rorer, Brandon Rorer, Samantha Fariss, Chelsea Sorice, Jason Sorice and Daniel Fariss. A sister, Mary Alice McCarthy and her husband, Robert of Virginia Beach. He is also survived by his beloved pet, Misty. A Celebration of Wesley?s Life and Faith will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Randy Bower officiating. Military Honors will be provided by his comrades from the American Legion, Post 16. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM today, May 19, 2010 at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel on Timberlake Rd.
