Obituary of Esther Waddington

Esther Elizabeth Waddington, 96, of Lynchburg, passed away, Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at her home. She was the wife of the late Horace Charles Waddington. Born December 31, 1913 in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Anna Vogel. She was a homemaker and of the Lutheran faith. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star # 129 in Philadelphia, PA. Mrs. Waddington is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Hecker and her husband Charles, of Forest and Barbara Waddington of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Charles Hecker, III, and his wife Shawn, of Lynchburg and Elizabeth Dawn Waddington of Raleigh, NC; one great-grandchild, Christian Tyler Hecker of Lynchburg. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Harry Waddington, one brother and three sisters. The family wishes to thank the staff , volunteers and nurses of Hospice of the Hills, for their professional and dedicated care of our loved one. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with the Rev. Dan G. Mason officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7-8:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
