Obituary of Clayton Bryant

Clayton Raymond Bryant, Sr. Clayton Raymond Bryant, Sr., 69, of Monroe passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in Medical Care Center. He was the husband of Barbara Burch Bryant. Born November 30, 1940 in Amherst County he was a son of the late Alfred Dewey Bryant, Sr. and Alice Riner Bryant. Clayton was an avid softball player having played in leagues for over 20 years and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a retired employee of the Hoppmann Corporation and attended Thomas Road Baptist Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Ray Bryant, Jr. and wife Lelia of Lynchburg, his daughter Julie Bryant Watts and husband Bently of Monroe, his brother Alfred D. Bryant, Jr. and wife Eleanor of Madison Heights, his sister Jean B. Springer of Monroe, three grandchildren, Hilary Watts, Tyler Watts and Caroline Bryant and his life long friend Mike Suchodolski and wife Terri. A celebration of Clayton?s life and faith will be held at 6:00 pm Friday, June 4, 2010 at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel with the Rev. David Heerspink officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm until service time and also at the residence following the service.
