Obituary of Aubrey Mehaffey

Aubrey Morris Mehaffey, Sr., 86, of Lynchburg passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born in Lynchburg on August 4, 1924 he was a son of the late Thomas Pinkney Mehaffey and Mary Elizabeth Morris Mehaffey and was the husband of Annie Davis Mehaffey. Mr. Mehaffey served his country during W.W. II in the U.S Army. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and a former member of Lynchburg Sports Club. Aubrey also loved U.Va. sports. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his loving and caring children. Aubrey M. Mehaffey, Jr. of Lynchburg and Rebecca Ann Mehaffey of Charlotte, NC. A brother, Lawrence Pinkney Mehaffey of Lynchburg. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Seaborn Mehaffey and Paul Mehaffey. A Celebration of Aubrey?s Life and Faith will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Centenary United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rick Ecklund officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 PM today, November 19, 2010 at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel, 811 Wiggington Rd., 385-8900.
