Obituary of Margaret Johnson

Margaret Huff Johnson, 88, of Lynchburg, died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Heritage Green Assisted Living-Daybreak. She was the wife of the late Houston Carroll Johnson. Born on April 24, 1922, she was the daughter of William E. and Rita Tannery Huff. She was a long time member of Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church. An employee of Consolidated Shoe Company, Margaret was secretary to Richard Alexander Carrington, Jr. (Flipper ) from 1943 until his death in 1989; she continued to work at Consolidated part-time until her retirement in 2001. She cherished her friends and co-workers there as much as she did her family. Surviving to cherish her memory are nephew, Edward Denton Huff and wife, Helen, Bedford , VA , nieces , Dorothy H. Hopp and husband , Pete,, Lynchburg and Rita H. Cothran and husband , Bill, also of Lynchburg. She will greatly missed by friends too numerous to mention. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Gellert. Burial will be private in the church cemetery.
