Obituary of Lawrence Trent

Lawrence A. Trent, Jr., 90, of Lynchburg passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Lawrence was born in Campbell County on December 8, 1920, the son of the late Reverend Lawrence A. Trent and Mamie Carwile Trent. He is survived by an aunt, Rachel T. Tabb of Williamsburg, and aunt by marriage, Georgia W. Carwile and numerous cousins. Lawrence was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Army. He was a long time employee of the Lynchburg News and Advance newspaper and a member of Southview United Methodist Church, where his father, Reverend Trent, pastured for thirty years. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, January 28, 2011 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Phillip Showers officiating. Military Honors will be provided by Lawrence?s comrades from the American Legion, Post 16 The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 Noon Friday at the funeral home.
