Obituary of Margaret Tweedy

Margaret Brown Tweedy, 88 of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, February 11, 2011 at Lynchburg Health and Rehab. She was the wife of the late Earl Carrington Tweedy. Margaret retired from General Electric, where she worked as an assembler. She was a member of Madison Heights Baptist Church and the Izaak Walton League. She is survived by two sons, David Michael ?Mike? Tweedy of Madison Heights, and Robert Earl ?Bobby? Tweedy of Bedford; two grandsons, Ronnie Tweedy and his wife, Lisa of Evington, and Bryan Eugene Tweedy and his wife Ellen of Lynchburg; and one great grandchild, Carrington Lee Pollard. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Lloyd of Lynchburg and Mildred Weisner of Winston-Salem, NC and her former daughter-in-law, Virginia ?Jenny? Tweedy of Evington. A Celebration of Margaret?s life and faith will be held Monday, February 14th, at 11am at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 13th, from 2-4 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fort Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association,1160 Pepsi Place-Suite 306, Charlottesville, VA 22901. Diuguid Funeral Service-Waterlick Chapel, 237-2722, is serving the family.
