Obituary of Sarah Paxton

Sarah Elizabeth Hart Paxton (Aunt Sarah) Sarah Elizabeth Hart (Aunt Sarah) Paxton, 84, of Lynchburg, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert M. Paxton Sr. Born May 4, 1926 in Clifton Forge, Va., she was a daughter of the late Surry Chesler and Edith R. Hart. In addition to her husband Mrs. Paxton was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Hart Rash and husband Elvin L. Rash Sr., and her infant brother Surry C. Hart Jr. She is survived by her son Robert M. Paxton, Jr., of Dallas TX.; grandson Robert M. Paxton III and his wife Joan; great-grandchildren Nathan and Kristy, all of Lynchburg. Mrs. Paxton is also survived by her nephews Elvin L. (Ron) Rash Jr. and wife Rebecca and Mark Steven Rash and his wife Bonnie, whom she raised after the death of their parents in 1969. Mrs. Paxton was retired from Rash/S&N Volkswagen of Lynchburg and was a member of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends Thursday March 17, 2011 from 6-7:30 pm at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel. A memorial service will be held Friday March 18, 2011 at 11:00 am at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, 1021 New Hampshire Ave., Lynchburg, by the Rev. Catharine W. Montgomery, Rector. The family wishes to extend their love and appreciation to the faithful and loving staff of Westminster Canterbury where she resided since 2006.
