Obituary of Agnes Mayberry

Agnes Murphy Mayberry, 87, of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Odd Fellows Home. She was the wife of the late Alfred Harris Mayberry. Born December 19, 1923, in Gretna, VA, she was the daughter of the late Charles Rosser and Mary Cobb Murphy. She was a retired analyst from The Old Time Gospel Hour and a member of Grace Assembly Church. She is survived by two sons, John Robert ?Bob? Mayberry and his wife, Beth of Lynchburg and Charles Richrd Mayberry and his wife, Sharon, of Jupiter, FL; five grandchildren, Alex and his wife Katelyn, Bryan Mayberry, Nicole Mayberry, Seth Mayberry and Katie Grace Mayberry; 2 great-grandchildren, Lily and Ariadne Mayberry. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Stephen, Fitzhugh, Albert and Lee Trinkle Murphy and two sisters, Margaret M. Glass and Mary M. Doss. A celebration of Mrs. Mayberry?s life and faith will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with the Rev. Tim Patterson officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
