Obituary of Mary McKendrick Glass

MARY JANE MCKENDRICK GLASS Mary Jane McKendrick Glass, 86, of Lynchburg went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Born in Waynesboro, PA on January 22, 1925 she was a daughter of the late Bernard F. McKendrick and Katie Baker McKendrick and was the widow of Samuel Marvin Glass. Mrs. Glass was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Sally G. Hargis and her husband, Len of Lynchburg. A son, Wayne L. Glass and his wife, Judy of Forest. Four grandchildren, Neal Hargis, Shelley Woodruff, Brian Glass and Michael Glass. Three great grandchildren, Hailey-Ann Woodruff, Benjamin Woodruff and Holly Glass. She is also survived by her loving and caring caregivers, Ruby Gaines and Gwen Melton. In addition to Mary Jane?s parents and husband she was predeceased by two brothers and a sister. A Celebration of Mary Jane?s Life and Faith will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 15, 2011 at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
