Obituary of Georgia Carwile

Georgia Woodall Carwile, 97, of Lynchburg, Virginia began her eternal rest with the Lord on Saturday, April 16, 2011. Mrs. Carwile was born December 4, 1913 in Campbell County and was the daughter of the late Willie W. Woodall and Alice Mayberry Woodall. She was preceded in deathby her husband of 52 years, Lacy H. Carwile, two brothers, Cornelius Woodall and Thomas Woodall, and five sisters, Florence W. Trent, Doris W. Roakes, Ethel W. Jennings, Willie W. Booth and Lula W. Jennings. Mrs. Carwile was a homemaker, devoted caregiver and a long time member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church. Mrs. Carwile leaves to cherish her memory a son, Elford L. (Chuck) Carwile and his wife, Kathy, a grandchild, Lacy A. Nelson and her husband, David, and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Skyler and Nicole Nelson, and a brother, Wilson E. Woodall. Chuck and Kathy wish to thank Georgia?s many devoted family and friends who visited and/or sent cards and prayers during her last months. A special thanks to the angel who kissed her good night every night. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Fort Hill United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Carwile?s wish was that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 1388, Lynchburg, VA 24505 Diuguid Waterlick Chapel (237-2722) is in charge of arrangements.
