Obituary of Jeffrey Burns

Jeffrey Nolan Burns On April 29, Jeffrey Nolan Burns, 40, of Altavista, was taken to heaven suddenly. He was born June 11, 1970 in Portsmouth to Christina Harvey and the late Nolan Burns, Jr. He leaves behind his wife, Jennifer and two-year old son, Nolan. He is also survived by his sister Suzanne Johnson of Lynchburg and three nieces. Jeff's family moved to Lynchburg when he was 15. He has been an active member of Thomas Road Baptist Church since that time. He had a passion for his family, motorcycles, tractors, guns and music. Jeff and Jennifer have been actively involved with the March of Dimes since the premature birth of their son in 2008. Jeff had served for serveral years as a Deputy for the Campbell County Sheriff's Department. His love for motorcycles led him to work most recently for Harley Davidson of Lynchburg. A celebration of Jeff's life will be held on Tuesday, May 3 at 11:00am in the Pate Chapel at Thomas Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Jonathan Falwell officiating. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 pm in the Pate Chapel. He will be laid to rest in Portsmouth, VA. on Wednesday.
