Obituary of Billie Stallard

Billie Neal Stallard, Sr., 82, of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011 in Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the loving husband of Dora "Jeannie" Stallard for 61 years. Born June 17, 1928 in Welch, West Virginia , he was a son of the late Frank Neal and Mildred G. Stallard. He was retired from Westvaco and a member of Epwoth United Methodist Church. Billie proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps in both World War-II and the Korean War. He is survived by three sons, Bill Stallard and his wife, Teresa, of Altavista, Michael "Mike" Stallard and his wife, Donna, of Lynchburg and Donald Stallard and his wife, Melissa, of Forest; three grandchildren, Graham Stallard and his wife, Crystal, Scott Stallard and his wife Megan and Geena Stallard; two step-grandchildren, Kelly Arble and her husband Doug, and Russ Farmer; great-grandchildren,Malena and Bryce Stallard; one step great granddaughter, Gloria Arble; one sister, Peggy Noel; two half-brothers, Boyce and Marshall Stallard and two very special and best friends, Jack Burkholder and Sam Sharpe; numerous "favorite" nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Everett Stallard and three half-brothers, Frank, Fred and Harry Stallard. A memorial service celebrating Billie's life and faith will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Pete Warren officiating. Military Honors will be provided by Lynchburg's Amercian Legion Post 16. The family will recieve friends at the residence after the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Amercian Cancer Society, 2316 Atherholt Dr., Lynchburg, VA 24501. Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory-Waterlick Chapel, 237-2722, is serving the family.
