Obituary of John Drumheller

Sgt-E7 John Quinten Drumheller, 92. of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at his home after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie Grace Drumheller. Born April 4, 1919 in Amherst County, he was a son of the late John Adam and Sadie Lawhorne Drumheller. He was a retired Sergeant in the United States Army and a veteran of World War II having served in both France and Germany. He was member of Beulah Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Marjorie, he is survived by one son, Robert Sumpter Drumheller of Snellville , GA; one daughter, Ann Drumheller Mann and her husband, James of Lynchburg; one brother, Max Drumheller of San Diego, CA. six grandchildren; Jason Robert Drumheller, John Daniel Drumheller and Sarah Elizabeth Drumheller all of Atlanta, GA, Marjorie Ann Hillman of New Hampshire, Ann Marie Anderson of Concord, VA and Erin Kathleen Colson of Lynchburg; two great-grandchildren, Hollie Ann Morris and James Thomas Thurman, both of Lynchburg. A celebration of John?s life and faith will be held Tuesday , May 31, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with the Rev. Brian Seay officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 16. Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory-Waterlick Chapel, 237-2722, is serving the family.
