Obituary of Junius Campbell

Junius ?J.T.? Thomas Campbell, 84, of Lynchburg, passed away, Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at his home after an extended illness. He was the husband of Thelma Baber Campbell for 67 years. Born July 21, 1926 in Piney River, Nelson County, he was a son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Margie Mae Wright Campbell. He was a retired self-employed landscaper and funeral assistant with Diuguid Funeral Service and a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, where he was an usher for many years. He was a former volunteer fireman with Boonsboro Vol. Fire Department during its early days. He also served our country in the United States Navy. In addition to his wife, Thelma, he is survived by one son, Rev. Darrell Thomas Campbell and his wife Angela of Danville, VA ; one daughter, Patricia C. Mays and her husband, Jimmy of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Joshua Thomas Campbell and his wife, Nicole, Sarah Elizabeth Campbell, Anthony W. Mays, Amy M. Kelly and her husband Brian; two great-grandchildren, Campbell and Addyson Kelly. A celebration of J.T.?s life and faith will be held Monday, June 6, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Diuguid Wiggington Road Chapel with the Rev. Dan G. Mason and Rev. Larry Mann officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to First Community Church, P.O. Box 881, Chatham.
