Obituary of Thomas Patterson

THOMAS MARK PATTERSON Thomas Mark Patterson, of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011. He was the husband of the late Elaine Motondo Patterson. Born October 29, 1925, in Hamilton, NY, he was a son of the late Mark and Roxa (Howard) Patterson. Thomas worked for General Electric and following retirement ran his own auto repair shop; managed the local American Automobile Association office; and worked for Vaughn?s Appliance Store. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Memorial Christian Church where he taught Sunday School. He is survived by three daughters, Laurie Patterson of Webster, MA, Beth and her husband, Ed Novak of Boyce, VA., and Martha Jo and her husband, Bill Wiseman of Altavista, VA. and a son, Timothy and his wife, Marion Patterson of Lynchburg. His grandchildren, Jason and his wife, Heather Murphy, Sarah and her husband, Mike Pruitt, Anthony and his wife, Kara Wiseman, Andy Patterson, Ben Patterson and Melanie Wiseman. He was the Great Grandfather of Colin and Elisabeth Murphy. He is also survived by a sister, Helen Lindsey and Sisters-in-law, Eleanor Evans and Dorothy Patterson. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy and a brother, Howard. A Celebration of Thomas?s Life and Faith will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with his son, Rev. Timothy Patterson officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice, in memory of Thomas Mark Patterson.
