Obituary of Hazel Maddox

Hazel Walker Hall Maddox, 100, of Lynchburg, passed away, Thursday, July 14, 2011 in Bedford County Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by the late Robert Henry Hall and late Warren L. Maddox. Born April 2, 1911 in Gatliff, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Robert J. and Francy Proffitt Walker. She was retired from Craddock-Terry Shoe Corporation and a long time member of Timberlake Christian Church. She is survived by her daughter, Shelby Lacy and her husband , James of Lynchburg; her son, Warren D. Hall and his wife, Kay, of Forest, VA; one sister, Ella W. Layne of Rustburg ; one grandson, Herb Atwell of Midlothian, VA and one great- grandson, Brennon Atwell and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Walker and Robert P. Walker. A celebration of Mrs. Maddox?s life and faith will be held Monday, July 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with the Rev. Bob Mooty officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Timberlake Christian Church,20261 Lynchburg Highway, Lynchburg, VA 24502. Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory-Waterlick Chapel , 237-2722, is serving the family.
