Obituary of Ann Wells

Ann Caldwell Wells, 68, of Lynchburg passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born in Lynchburg on June 8, 1943 she was a daughter of the late John B. Caldwell and Dorothy Rucker Caldwell. Mrs. Wells was a Teacher and Administer for the Campbell County School System for over 30 years. She was a graduate of Lynchburg College and received her Master?s Degree from UVA. She was a member of Peakland United Methodist Church and the Hand Bell Choir. Previously she had been a member and organist at College Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, David Bolling Wells and his wife, Sonya Moore-Wells of Los Gatos, CA. A daughter, Kimberley Wells Bell and her husband, Michael Keith Bell of Lynchburg. Five grandchildren, Heather, Kara, Morgan and Logan Bell and Hannah Wells. A brother, Benjamin Caldwell and his wife, Virginia of Forest. The family would like to thank Dr. Jack MacNeill and the Nurses and Staff of the Oncology Unit at Lynchburg General Hospital for the loving and gentle care they gave to their mother. A Celebration of Ann?s Life and Faith will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Caldwell Family Cemetery on Gristmill Rd with the Rev. Edwin Clever officiating. Following the service at the cemetery a reception for family and friends will be held at Peakland United Methodist Church beginning at 3:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests to consider a donation to Peakland United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
