Obituary of Ronald Ramey

Ronald Arthur Ramey, 68, of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the Medical Care Center after an extended illness. Born November 20, 1942, in Lynchburg, VA , he was a son of the late Arthur and Ruby Oliver Ramey. He was a retired machinist. He served our country in the United States Navy and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Richmond, VA. He is survived by two daughters, Deborah R. Gibson and her husband, Daniel, of Lynchburg and Cheryle R. Johnson and her husband ,William of Gladys; three brothers, David Ramey and his wife , Pat, of CO, George Ramey and his wife, Sue, of Forest and Steve Ramey of Fl; two grandchildren, Hunter Lee Gibson and Marissa Mae Johnson; aunt and uncle, Mary and Lenward White of Lynchburg and aunt, Myrtle Sandifer of Maryland. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Historic Old City Cemetery Chapel with Gary White officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery chapel. A private scattering will be held after the service in the cemetery scatter garden. Memorial contributions may be made to the Old City Cemetery,401 Taylor Street, Lynchburg, VA 24501- for Memorial Plant Fund for Ronald Ramey. A beautiful rose bush will be planted in memory of Ronald. Diuguid Funeral Service-Waterlick Chapel, 237-2722, is serving the family.
