Obituary of William Clements

William ?Bill? Henry Clements, Jr., 81, of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, October 7, 2011 at Virginia Baptist Hospital after an extended illness. He was the husband of Frances G. Clements. Born March 11, 1930 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late William Henry and Alice Stinnette Clements. Bill was retired from the Maintenance Department of Lynchburg College. He served our country in the United States Marine Corp. and was a member of Timberlake United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, Fran, he is survived by two sons, William Henry Clements, III and his wife, Diana, of Fort Collins, CO and Roger Graylin Clements and his wife, Pat, of Lynchburg; two daughters, Florence Ridge of Appomattox and Deborah Becker and her husband, Steve, of Mocksville, NC; one sister, Dr Frances Clements of Fairfax, VA; six grandchildren, Gordon Clements, Alan Clements, John Paul Clements, Daniel Becker, Dianna Blanchet (Greg) and Cassandra Becker; and one great-grandchild, Noelle Blanchet. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by one sister, Mary Hannah Clements. A celebration of Bill?s life and faith will be held Monday, October 10, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Timberlake United Methodist Church with Rev. Rob Colwell officiating. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium immediately following the service. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Timberlake United Methodist Church, 21649 Timberlake Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24502, or to the National D-Day Memorial Foundation in Bedford, Virginia, 24523.
