Obituary of Leroy Renalds

LeRoy ?Pop? O. Renalds, 81, of Madison Heights passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the Carrington. Born in Charles Town, W.Va. On June 4, 1930 he was a son of the late Robert Renalds and Elizabeth Slaughter Renalds. Mr. Renalds served his country in the U.S. Air force during the Korean War. He was a member of Amelon United Methodist Church, The National American Legion and an original member of the Monelison Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his loving and caring wife of 50 years, Carol Jean Miller Renalds and by his sister, Roberta Howell. He is survived by a son, Douglas C. Renalds and his wife, Deborah of Lynchburg. His daughters, Jeannie R. Turner and her husband, Greg of Monroe, Rennee R. Thresher of Madison Heights, Annette R. Brooks and her husband, Robert of Madison Heights and Nancy A. Renalds of Bedford, a special chosen daughter, Brenda L. Spence of Bedford. Six grandchildren, Angela Ornelas, Megan Turner, Andrew Turner, Caitlin Brooks, Ryan Thresher and Melissa Brooks and six great grandchildren with two on the way. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. A Celebration of Pop?s Life and Faith will be held 1:00 PM Friday, October 28, 2011 at Amelon United Methodist Church with the Rev. C. Douglas Pillow and the Rev. Paulo DaSilva officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Amelon United Methodist Church.
