Obituary of Alice Miear

Alice Doss Miear, 92, of Lynchburg passed away Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Lynchburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Appomattox County on July 3, 1919 she was a daughter of the late Thomas Baxter Doss and Hattie Marsh Doss and was the widow of Richard Harding Miear. Mrs. Miear was retired from the Appomattox Garment Factory. She is survived by a son, Richard Darrell Miear of Lynchburg. A brother, Ferrell W. Doss of Evington and a sister, Marie D. Miear of Forest. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Roy Lee Miear. A Celebration of Alice?s Life will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 14, 2011 at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, one hour prior to the service, at the Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, 1022 Commerce St., Lynchburg, Va. 24504
