Obituary of Danny Bernard

Danny Ray Bernard, 58, of Lynchburg passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011. Born in Roanoke on January 2, 1953 he was the son of William Bernard of Vinton and the late Sylvia Hall Bernard. Mr. Bernard was well known at Karaoke and a masterful DJ. In addition to his father, Danny is survived by his daughter, Christy M. Bernard of Madison Heights. Four brothers, Wayne Bernard and Bill Bernard, Jr. both of Roanoke, Stephen Bernard of Vinton and Tim Sutphin of Maryland. Four sisters, Robin Bernard of Lynchburg, Phyllis Wood of Arkansas, Gwen Farringer of Lynchburg and Wanda Stevens of Roanoke. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, friends and family. Danny was well known for his care free, happy personality. He did every thing he could to make people around him laugh, feel comfortable and most importantly feel special. His karaoke business was not just a job to him, but and absolute love. Danny never met a stranger, only friends. He was a kind and helpful spirit never hesitant to help out with benefits and fundraisers for those in need. He will forever hold a place in the hearts of so many. He loved his friends and he loved his music. His amazing voice has left impressions on the lives of all who have heard him. He was a bright shining star and will be truly missed by many. A Funeral Service for Danny will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the funeral home.
