Obituary of Frances Mason

Frances Goin Mason, 88, of Lynchburg went to be with the Lord Monday, December 19, 2011 at her home after an extended illness. She was the widow of John Howard Mason. Born November 16, 1923 in Altavista, Va, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Thomas and Gracie Spencer Goin. She was of the Baptist faith and attended several local churches. Frances was a retired seamstress from the former Imperial Reading Company. She loved her family and her ever present coffee and working puzzles and crosswords. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Jean Mason Spradlin of Madison Heights and Nancy M. Wilkerson , and her husband, Darrell of Lynchburg; six grandchildren, Troy, Samantha, Jennifer, Michelle, Kathy and Christina; nineteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. Frances will be greatly missed by her family. A graveside service will be held Wednesday , December 21, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Dan G. Mason officiating. The family will receive friend?s tonight from 7-8:30 PM at Diuguid Wiggington Road Chapel.
