Obituary of Leon Seguin

LEON ?LEE? SEGUIN Leon ?Lee? Richard Seguin, 71, of Lynchburg passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Born in Island Pond, VT on September 9, 1940 he was a beloved son of Richard Claude Seguin and Marjory (Currier) Seguin of Island Pond, VT. Lee worked as a maintenance technician at Centra Health. Prior to that he worked in a similar position at Courtside. After graduating from the University of Vermont in 1962 he joined the Air Force Reserve for 6 years. He also began his career in 1962 as an Electrical Engineer, working for IBM and GE, in Burlington, VT and Utica and Rochester, NY. He relocated to Lynchburg, VA in 1972 where he joined Babcock and Wilcox and worked until 1989 as Quality Assurance Manager in the Nuclear Power Division. He then worked free-lance as a QA Consultant until 1998, after which he joined Courtside. He owned a handyman business for many years and continued with that business as his avocation until the end. He enjoyed fixing and repairing most anything mechanical or electrical and had many loyal customers. Lee was an avid sailor, having owned sailboats and been a member of VISA on Smith Mountain Lake. In his earlier years he was active with motorcycles, SCUBA diving and skiing. In addition to his father, he is survived by his former wife, Linda Seguin of Richmond; four brothers and sisters, Robert ?Bob? Seguin and his companion, Deborah Cameron of Island Pond, VT and Palm Bay, FL; Claudia Epstein and her husband, Richard of Morgan, VT; Dana Seguin of Lebanon, NH; and Janella ?Jan? Clarke and her husband, Michael of Island Pond, VT; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as numerous close and dear friends; two step daughters, Jane Campbell of Staunton, VA and Amy Omohundro of Denver, CO. He was predeceased by his mother Marjory and teenage brothers, Timothy and Bradley. He will forever be remembered in the hearts of all who love him. Lee?s family would like to thank the staffs at Lynchburg General Hospital and UVA Hospital for the care, both personal and professional, that was extended to him during his illness. A Celebration of Lee?s life will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel, 811 Wiggington Rd., 385-8900. A reception for family and friends will follow the time of stories and reflections.
