Obituary of Joanne Dawson

Joanne Marie Sharp Dawson, 71, of Goode, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at her residence. She was twice married and preceded in death by both husbands, Raymond Marshall Sharp and Clark Edward Dawson. Born October 2, 1940 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late David E. and Hazel Powell Booth. She was retired from Ericsson after many years of service. She was a member, in early life, at Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church and later watched the service of Gethsemane Baptist Church on television due to her health. She is survived by one son, Robby Dawson (Michelle) of Madison Heights; three daughters, Dawn Sharp (Tommy Nicely) of Lynchburg, Melinda Woodford (Arnold) and Patty Mitchell, both of Bedford; three step-children, Linda Shelton (Don) of Danville, Joanne Morris (Chip) of Pensacola FL and Pete Dawson (Julie) of Rustburg, VA; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Lung Association of Virginia, 9702 Guyton Rd. # 110, Richmond, VA 23238 A celebration of Joanne?s life will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with Pastor Carlton Duck officiating.
