Obituary of Betty Keys

On Saturday, March 24, 2012, Betty Jean McFaden Keys, 71, was welcomed into Heaven by her father, Berkley Francis McFaden, Sr., her brother, James L. ?Jimmy? McFaden, her brother-in-law Page Creasey, and her nephew James Neil ?Jimmy? Novak. Jean was born January 24, 1941, in Bedford County. She was a lifelong member of Boonsboro United Methodist and graduated Boonsboro High School in 1959. She was a graduate of Phillips Business College and worked at General Electric. She was active in the Boonsboro Garden Club and was a talented cake decorator. After the birth of her children, she became a devoted mother and was always on the go with her boys including serving as score keeper when they played Boonsboro Dixie Youth Baseball. More than anything, she loved her grandchildren. She helped raise all of them; often saying that they were what kept her going. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years, Paul R. Keys, Sr., of Lynchburg, her mother, Gladys Nickerson McFaden, of Lynchburg, her sons, Paul R. Keys, Jr., and wife, Kathy, of Lynchburg; and Brian E. Keys of Lynchburg; her grandchildren, Lauren Ashley Keys, Dakota Brian Keys, Taylor Danielle Keys and Braelyn Grayce Keys; her step-grandchildren, Richard Edwin Key III and Kristen Rose Key; her brothers and sisters, Mary M. Creasey of Madison Heights, Berkley F. ?Sonny? McFaden, Jr., and wife, Nancy, of Lynchburg, Joseph A. ?Joe? McFaden and wife, Wilma, of Williamsburg, John W. ?Johnny Mac? McFaden of Monroe, and Dorothy ?Dot? Novak and husband, Neil, of Lynchburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Mark Snowden and Rev. Ron Litten officiating.
