Obituary of Christine Falls Owen

Christine Arnold Falls Owen, 95, of Forest passed away on March 30, 2012 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born May 10, 1916 in the Cifax Community of Bedford County. She was the daughter of the late John V. Falls and the late Lula C. Falls. She was the devoted wife of the late Horace Robert ?Jack? Owen for forty-four years. She was the loving mother of the late Harold R. Owen and Donnie F. Owen. She is survived by her brother Jack Falls of Huddleston, sister Viola Mae Padgett of Salem, and daughter Della Foster of Lowry. She was a beloved grandmother to six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter. She resided in the family?s Forest home for fifty-six years along with her loyal dog Gracie. She was faithfully taken care of in her home by her granddaughter Christie Rider and family. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church for fifty-six years and member of the Rebekah?s Stoney Creek Lodge #103 for twenty-six years. She spent her days sitting beside her woodstove or enjoying warm weather on her front porch with Gracie. She remained the life of the party at Sunday dinners with her family and has made lasting memories with her granddaughter?s family on their many vacations to Myrtle Beach. A Celebration of Christine?s Life will be held 12:00 Noon Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Bethany United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to Noon Tuesday at the Church.
