Obituary of Landon Overstreet

Landon Lewis Overstreet, 89, of Lynchburg passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Salem Veterans Hospital. Born in Forest on October 4, 1922 he was a son of the late Robert L. Overstreet and Vivian Wilson Overstreet and was the husband of Irene M. Overstreet. Mr. Overstreet served his country in the US Army during WW II where he received two Purple Hearts. He was retired from the Texaco Inc. and was a member of Timberlake United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of the New London Academy. Mr. Overstreet enjoyed all outdoor activities including gardening, hunting and fishing. He was also an avid reader. In addition to his wife, Irene, he is survived by a daughter, Linda O. Harvey and her husband, Jim of Marietta, GA. two step-sons, Michael K. Miller and Larry C. Miller and his wife, Sandra all of Lynchburg. Two step-daughters, Andrea D. Miller and Karen S. Miller both of Lynchburg. Four grandchildren, Jimmy Harvey of Marietta, GA. Jake Miller, Jared Miller and Clint Miller and his wife, Jamie all of Lynchburg. He is also survived by his loving caregivers, Lyvonnia Napier and April Callands A Celebration of Landon?s Life will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Rob Colwell officiating. The family will receive friends at the Overstreet residence.
