Obituary of Eleanor Curd

Eleanor Feagans Curd, 90, of Washington, D.C. and formerly of Lynchburg, VA, passed away at her home Friday, April 27, 2012. She was the widow of the late Lewis Howard Curd. Born December 21, 1921 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles Burton and Minnie Carter Feagans. She was a graduate of Longwood College and later American University with a Master?s of Education degree in special education for the talented and gifted. She was a retired elementary school teacher for the talented and gifted in the District of Columbia Public School System. She was a member of St. Paul?s Episcopal Church in Lynchburg. She is survived by three sons, Dr. Lewis ?Chip? H. Curd, Jr. and his wife, Patricia of Williamsburg, VA, Richard F. Curd of St. Petersburg, FL, and Gregory W. Curd and his wife, Beth, of Seal Beach, CA; four grandchildren, Kendall Taylor Curd, Katherine Eleanor Curd, Emily Ann Curd and Thomas Ryan Curd. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Virginia Curd. A celebration of Eleanor?s life and faith will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 1:00 PM at St. Paul?s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Todd Vie officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-9 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
