DORA WILSON BRYANT Dora Wilson Bryant, 84, of Lynchburg passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at Runk & Pratt Residential Adult Care in Forest. Born in Bedford County on April 6, 1928 she was a daughter of the late William Wallace Wilson and Virginia Davis Wilson and was the widow of Calvin N. Bryant. Mrs. Bryant was a graduate of New London Academy and a member of Pisgah Presbyterian Church. She was a retired legal secretary for Nationwide Insurance. She and her husband, Calvin, spent many joyous years traveling with the Wally Byam Caravan Club International. She is survived by her step mother, Vera Harrell of Lynchburg. A brother, David Wilson and his wife, Gail of Forest. Three sisters, Lillie W. Bryant of Front Royal, Virginia Bryant and her husband, Fred of Gladys and Janie Keyes and her husband, Clinton of Lynchburg. A sister-in-law, Dean Layne of Altavista. Two brothers-in-law, Elmo J. Bryant of Altavista and Marshall Bryant and his wife, Lila of Appomattox. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Newton and Ruby Lewis. The family would like to thank the staff of Runk & Pratt Residential Adult Care for the loving and wonderful care given to Mrs. Bryant. A Celebration of Dora?s life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 4, 2012 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Dave Moquin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made in Dora?s name to the Alzheimer?s Association, 1022 Commerce St., Lynchburg, Va. 24504.
